	Description
	Revia [Naltrexone HCL – Oral] is a medication that is used on people who were previously addicted to opiates. 	How to use

The doctor should be informed in case the patient starts using drugs or alcohol again.


	Side Effects
	Revia [Naltrexone HCL – Oral] may cause side effects in some patients who are using it. The most common side effects patients get are anxiety, headache, stomach upset, sneezing, muscle pain, blurred vision, ringing in the ears, nervousness, sleeping trouble, nausea, nasal stuffiness, decrease in sexual interest, thirst and weakness. Though all these side effects usually go away by themselves, if they do persist, the doctor should be consulted. In case any of the following serious side effects occur, the doctor should be called immediately: skin rash, mood changes, vomiting, breathing trouble, confusion, hallucinations and severe diarrhea.


	Drug Interaction
	Revia [Naltrexone HCL – Oral] may cause drug interactions when it is administered on the patient simultaneously with other drugs. The doctor should be aware of all the drugs the patient is taking before prescribing to rule out any reactions. The following drugs require special mention in this regard: • disulfiram • narcotic medication (for instance, hydrocodone, propoxyphene, codeine, hydrocodone, propoxyphene) • thioridazine • cough medications (for instance, dextromethorphan) • diarrhea medications (for instance, diphenoxylate)
