Severe side effects of Nitro-Bid Ointment [Nitroglycerin] are blurred vision, fainting, heavy sweating, pale skin, pounding sensation in the chest, severe dizziness, severe headache, persistent vomiting or nausea, shortness of breath, swelling in the ankles, hands and feet, dry mouth, flushing, irregular heartbeat and unusual weakness. New or worsening of chest pain is also very serious. Few patients have also been reported to get severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which are rash, itching, tightness in the chest, swelling of the face, tongue, mouth and lips and difficulty in breathing. In case any of these symptoms are noticed, it should be treated as a medical emergency.
